Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

1. Introduction

ValueAPI ("we," "our," or "us") operates as an AI API routing and aggregation platform. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website (valueapi.ai) and use our API routing services, dashboard, and related applications (collectively, the "Services").

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect several types of information from and about users of our Services, including:

  • Personal Identification Information: Email address, password (securely hashed), and account preferences when you register for an account.
  • Billing and Financial Information: When you purchase Credits, our third-party payment processor (Stripe) collects your payment details. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers; we only retain transaction records, billing history, and your lifetime top-up volume to determine your tier.
  • API Usage and Log Data: We automatically collect data regarding your API usage, including request volume, model selection, token counts (input/output), timestamps, IP addresses, and user-agent strings. This is strictly for billing, rate-limiting, and security monitoring.
  • Device and Usage Information: Information about how you access and use the website, including browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and page views.

3. API Request Content (Prompts & Completions)

We do NOT store the content of your API requests (prompts) or the resulting completions. As an API router, ValueAPI acts as a conduit. We transmit your requests to upstream AI model providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, etc.) in real-time.

Important Disclaimer: While we do not store your prompt data, your data is subject to the privacy policies and data retention practices of the respective upstream providers whose models you choose to invoke. We strongly recommend reviewing the privacy policies of these upstream providers to understand how they may use your data (e.g., for model training or abuse monitoring).

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for various business and operational purposes, including to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain our Services, including routing your API requests to the appropriate upstream providers.
  • Process transactions, calculate usage, and accurately deduct Credits from your account balance.
  • Manage your account, provide customer support, and respond to your inquiries.
  • Send administrative information, such as updates, security alerts, low-balance notifications, and changes to our terms or policies.
  • Monitor and analyze usage trends, performance, and activities to improve our Services.
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, abuse, and security breaches.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Acceptable Use Policy and Terms of Service.

5. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We may share your information in the following situations:

  • Upstream AI Providers: Your API request payloads are sent directly to the provider of the model you request. We map your account to an upstream identifier to facilitate this routing.
  • Service Providers: We share data with trusted third-party vendors who assist us in operating our Services, such as payment processors (Stripe), cloud hosting and edge computing providers, and email delivery services (Mailgun). These providers are bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
  • Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing due diligence, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, or valid legal process (such as a subpoena or court order), or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ValueAPI, our users, or the public.

6. Data Retention

We will retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable tax/revenue laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies. API usage logs are retained for a limited period to facilitate billing audits and dispute resolution, after which they are aggregated or deleted.

7. Security of Your Information

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. Our infrastructure is built on enterprise-grade edge networks, utilizing encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. However, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

8. Your Data Protection Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data, including:

  • Access: The right to request copies of your personal data.
  • Rectification: The right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Erasure: The right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • Restriction of Processing: The right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • Data Portability: The right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information provided below.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information, including personal data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction. By using our Services, you consent to the transfer of your information globally.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
